I have a Howa/Houge in .22-250 and a Tikka Lite in the same caliber. Frankly, I have been disappointed in both of them shooting a variety of lead and non-lead ammo. One is a 1:12 and the other is a 1:14 twist (don't remember off hand which is which). I just got a good deal on some Remington Express Power-Lock 55gr HP ammo. The hollow point (hole) is covered with cooper. Is this normal? This is new ammo to me. Should I expect either of these rifles with a slow twist to be able to shoot this 55gr stuff?Thanks,Woo

Woo, that is my favorite stuff!!!!. I shoot it in a 1-14 twist in my 7oo remmy 22-250.Less than a 1/4" @100. Results are fantastic against coyotes at all ranges,all with good hard clean kills .Even much better than v-max. Yes that hole is slightly covered. I even went to that bullet in my 243. 80 grain. It shoots 5 shot .30 holes @ 100 all day long. If the stuff dont work for you,let me know and ill buy it off you.

I also have some Blitz king 55 grain cor-bon that dont shoot at all in my rifle that you are welcome to try. Also try 50 grain winchester supreme . they were very accurate for me. I am not into the plastic tip bullets right now,with the results from the PLHPs being so good.

I think i could have shot that stuff from the hip and got a tighter group.

Make sure to clean your barrel before you shoot copper I heard the fouling from the lead bullets jackets don't react well with the copper bullets.That something new that I heard.

Get that stuff called wipe-out. Foam you squirt in the barrel. Shooter John got me going on that stuff. you will throw all the other stuff away.Leave it set and wipe it out.I have tried ALL of it..

I've read good stuff about Wipe Out, but Midway had a good sale on Butch's. Same old story, you get what you pay for. I'll give it a try.Woo

I've used Butch's for a long time but I had a 17 Rem awhile back that had been cleaned regularly with Butch's that I thought the barrel was shot out. I tried some wipeout and couldn't believe the blue coming out of the barrel. After about 3 or 4 times of doing the wipeout the blue went away and my Lilja match barrel is back on the money. I still use Butch's on my HMR's and some other guns that don't copper up too bad.
