I'm looking at the Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock to put on my Savage .204. I use it strictly as a bench gun. What can you all tell me about Choate stocks? Any feedback is appreciated.Thanks,Stevehttp://www.uws.com/C...mateSniper.html

They're heavy and I think they're ugly, but there's a decent fan base out there amongst long range shooters.Posted Image

I have to agree with Stiff Neck on this one. Except he left out uncomfortable. Something you're going to be leaning on all day shooting squirrels I want to be comfortable. Why not a Boyd's thumb-hole or a real bench rest stock?

That is the stock I am going to put on the next rifle I buy. Don't know much about them but I've made up my mind. Can I buy a savage barreled action separately or do I have to buy the whole thing and swap the stocks???????????

Hog,I've had one on my 223 for about two years. I like it. The Aluminum block is machined after it is put in the stock and mine shoots very well, as in prairie dogs at 600 yds. Is it pretty? No, but look at all the other black stocks out there. I am thinking about buying a second one for my 204.A17Shooter
