I've got a new Reminton 700 in 17 Remington that I get my hands on after the blasted CA 10 day waiting period is over. I've got a 50 mm Objective scope that will go on it but I am undecided as to what rings to use. To be honest, I've not bought any new rings besides for a flat top AR in YEARS. What do you recommend?

Leupold rings sounds like my answer. What height do I need for the 50mm Obj?

I'm pretty sure it takes high rings for most 50mm's

It does take the high rings I tried putting a 44mm on the med. rings and was to short.

Yep, I like the two piece bases myself. I bought those stupid Mark IV rings and bases for my 700 VSF and I like the standard two piece so much more I took the Mark IV's off.

I ordered the 2 piece standard bases and rings along with a lapping kit. It will be here on the day after the rifle gets out of "jail"
