Went out last night to try and kill a coon no luck. This morning my wife says you can go hunting if you want nothing else needed to be said I was gone. Got out there and the wind was whipping I almost just came back home but said what the heck.I set up at my first stand and nothing. I walk about a half a mile and set down again get all set up start calling. After about 15min of calling I see some movement from my left. Yep mr. Yote and was coming in pretty fast once he got zoned in on where the sound was coming from I let out a bark and stood there looking at me whaaaaaap down like a ton of bricks. I had to walk a whole 22 steps to the dog. I was hoping on a small male dog but it was a female very small dog but the pheasent guys want them all gone.I make a couple of more stands with no luck I got busted by two different dogs walking from stand to stand so I decided to try another spot. I walk maybe 300 yards from the truck get all set up and start calling about 250 yards out guess who was sleeping out in the grass yep another one. The wind was not in my favor and he started to come in but very slow. He was about 175 yards out with his nose strait up in the wind trying to see what he could smell, I wasn't going to wait around to see so I let a 45gr. Hollow point loose and it busted him right in the neck I had it right on his shoulder but hard to keep the rifle still in the wind. On both of the yotes that I called in where with the FOXPRO jackrabbit dist. This is the first one little femalePosted ImagePosted ImageThis was the male heavy dogPosted ImagePosted Image

Nice going Coyoteslayer. The name really is starting to fit like a glove.

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Big congrats on the two dogs! I have had some decent luck calling in high wind. I always say go when you can go.

$20.00 and some luck is what this one cost me. But I don't know how much they cost but however much is a good investment. I have called dogs in each time I have taken it out not each stand but each day. You should take a look at the web site they have all kinds of neat stuff.

When I hunt in the brush that is all I take out most of the time but down here in the valley you almost have to have a rifle because your shooting 50 yards and out most of the time in the rice fields. This area is very open I do get a lot of dogs up close here but I like shooting my rifle over my shotgun any day. I like to hear that bullet make contact, Music to my ears. :P
