I am thinking of picking one up as a ccw gun/back up. Anyone shot one or have first hand info? They get good reviews, seems like a nice gun for the back pocket.
Anyone seen/shot the Ruger LCP?

That looks like a nice gun. I use a German made Walther PPK in .380. Nice little gun shoots very accurately and points well.

The Ruger LCP is not on the CA "approved" list. My understanding is that Ruger does not plan on selling this one in CA.

I have a Makarov in 9x18mm that makes a great pocket pistol. Very much like a Walther PPK, and they can be had for pretty cheap.Darren

I heard about these from my bro-in-law, turns out he did not bother to tell me it is law enforcement only in CA. Doh! That sucks, looks like a really cool little gun. I'll have to wait until after the academy to get one. (if gun are still legal in 2009!)

Or, have your bro-in-law buy it.
I have heard they are impossible to get though due to the demand for them.

Gotta watch the straw purchase. No need getting into trouble.

He said that would work. Seems odd to me. I can't buy the gun in CA, but he can and then sell it to me??? So it is legal to own in CA... just not to buy it new? Another well thought out law in this state!I told him to stop playing around and get that gun. If he doesn't like it (and it is legal) I'd be happy to buy it from him! They are not that hard to get, second amendment has them and they are on gun broker. Second Amend wants $70 to do the paperwork!

LCP .380 : there's a dozen or so at the gun club, everyone there loves them. .380 die sets must be selling like never before. you guys in CA. should move to the UNITED STATES where we DARE DEFEND OUR RIGHTS.
