I've been looking for a good case to transport a broken down AR that will protect I've made in my recent AR upper and lower purchase. Today I settled for a Pelican 1700. It is of course air and water tight and actually has a built in set of wheels for rolling the case through an airport instead of having to carry it. The areas where the padlocks go are actually reinforced with metal to help prevent a would be thief from quickly getting inside the case. I think it is going to work well. What does everyone else use? Posted Image Posted Image

I have an aluminum case very similar to that one. I bought it at the time because it had wheels and the plastic ones didn't. <_<

Pelican actually has a couple of rifle cases now that have wheels. This one that I bought is just about 3 feet wide so it's a little easier to carry around.

Anything Pelican Rocks  We used them in the military to carry around our cutting edge 'satellite based navigation systems', they were massive (compared to todays GPS; mid 1980's). Ran all around the desert and water, never had a case fail. Scott

Well, you know ....I got the case at %10 over cost. I cost me $157 out the door. It is a little spendy for a gun case, I admit, but I will never have to worry about my AR and this custom upper and nice scope I bought being damaged while it is inside this case. My plan is to take the AR with the 25 WSSM to Taxas with me on the next hunting trip down there. This case will take all the abuse the guys who handle luggage can dish out!

That case sounds like a winner for sure. Are you going to have time to shoot that thing before you back to Texas. How about a shotgun next time too? ;)

I'm going to run that 25 WSSM through it's paces when I head back to Missouri in May. I will shoot it then and my brother may use it for antelope in November.Yea, we will have a shotgun on the TX trip. We actually had one in February, but with the full moon we just didn't get any close enough for that shotgun.
