Troy P-AR 300 BLK

4 posts in this topic

I'm a big AR fan but left them at my families residence n Oklahoma.  I decided on this setup for coyote and pig hunting adventures.

Troy pump action AR (PAR) chambered in 300 BLK, with Warne Ramp-30 mount and Nightforce SHV scope.  I'm curios if anyone else has tried the Troy PAR?

Nice rifle !

Thank you.  I was looking for a California legal AR style rifle that wouldn't be classified as an "Assault Rifle."  I've zeroed the scope but haven't actually put anything down with this setup yet.

After struggling with getting decent shot groups at 100 yards, some research revealed the Troy PAR 300 BLK's accuracy with supersonic ammo is described as "mediocre."  The best group I could get with the 110 grains were 6" at 100 yards.  So I've been working on a caliber swap to 6.5 Grendel.  I went with an Anderson Arms type 1 barrel and changed the bolt to a 7.62x39.  So far fit and function are good so I will take break it down again for paint and additional modification.  Once it's complete I will put up some final pics and a range report.
