Desert Fox

Found a perfect red dot sight for my DE 44 Magnum

13 posts in this topic

Just mounted a Sig Sauer STS-081 Red Dot sight on my Desert Eagle. The size is just perfect for my liking. I hope it can withstand the pounding from Hornady's 240 grain XTP.

Yes! I like it better than the Burris 2X Handgun scope that I had on it.

I will take it hog hunting when I get a chance.

i am using the burris reflex sight on my glock 31. Highly accurate and very tough. I have been using it to check traps in the rain and soak and wet it works great. It amazes me that it can take the beating of the slide going back and forth and still maintain p o i. That sight should work great.!

It has to be tough riding atop the moving slide. Does that thing interfere with your holster?

Not one bit. Sure works for my eyes, and it dims in low light / nightime so it doesnt blind you

The Sig has 11 intensity settings. Been playing with it and it seems level 3 is just perfect. I guess I have to try it this weekend and see how it perform.

Nice , Desert Fox.

Most of the guys that ran Glocks in unlimited class use some form of sight like Ehds . Not sure of the other specific types / brands but they are all some form of heads up / halo / ???? Sight . And they get a workout every weekend with those guys . Couple hundred a week , if not thousand rds .

Unlike the STI , LimeCat guns usually have some form of frame or shroud mounted sight . Not on the slide itself.

Andy.

For me it was a simple "cant see the front bead like i used to" deal, so thats why i tried one. i am not much of a pistol shot, but i can hit a coffee can lid at 50 yards with it with a good rest. its also very easy to shoot with both eyes open. I think you will like it Desert fox.

Thanks CH.

ehd, just like you, this 55 year old eyes is not what it used to be. I learned shooting in my late 20's, with open sight in both rifle and handgun when my vision were 20/10. Being 55, and near sighted, I just can't acquired the front sight fast enough.

Very cool! My only experience with a DE was shooting the 50 AE when I was 10... Let's just say it was quite a "handful! :D I have an old Tasco Pro Point on my Ruger MKII. It's held up well, but then again it's only a 22. It is one of my favorite guns to shoot. I have it sighted in at 25 yards, and am successful hitting squirrels out to about 125. I've had this gun for 18 years now, I guess you could say I'm happy with it!
