My goose is cooked! ;)

7 posts in this topic

So here they are! One is dry rubbed with my poultry rub and the other I made a teriaki based marinade for. My BBQ thermometer is off by 30°, so it took 90 minutes instead of 180. Oh well, that's why I use a timer and a corded probe! They're tented and finishing right now, so I guess they'll be appetizers. Smelled SO GOOD while I was cooking, I used a mix of Hickory briquets and Apple wood chunks.

Enjoy!

Dinner update: They were AWESOME! Perfect medium rare. Our favorite was the dry rubbed, I also sprinkled the inside with the rub and stuffed it with slices of orange and lime along with a couple diced garlic cloves. Both were moist with the right amount of smoke flavor, and the fruit added just a hint of sweetness to the meat. I am very happy with how they turned out.

Awesome. I could eat that. ... no, I mean right now! My wife came home, kicked the door open and said "what'er you doin?" I said I was makin the injection marinade for the ham and gettin the two extra turkey breasts rubbed down with spices. She barked somethin and started cookin the turkey guts and veggies in a pot. I got outta the kitchen. ...no dinner, I guess. I may have to do a 'hydraulic' dinner. My garage fridge has about a case of 3-4 different craft beers. :drinks:

Your goose is cooked, but my butt is fried. :signlol2iu:

LOL! I think my Dad forgets about my prowess on the grill. He kept going on and on about the goose. But that's a good thing!

If you need help downing those beers let me know. I'm pretty good at drinking beer, I've had a lot of practice! ;)

At least your dad will say it was good! My father-in-law is utterly incapable of saying anyhting I cooked on the BBQ is good!

Those look very good.
