Taco Night Shoot

11 posts in this topic

Went to a 600 yards shoot with my wife last night. It's a fun filled shoot with about 40 shooters and their families. Brad, the match director, treated us to a great taco dinner prior to the match. My wife did great and beat me and my friend Frank by a mile. The score says it all. I think my wife will probably be on the top ten once the official tally comes in. Not bad for her first shoot and a night shoot at that.

This couple served some of the best carne asada I had in along time.

Where was it done , WEGC ?

Also , Is that the " Taco Man / Guy " ? I have been to several parties in the 909 / 951 & he was the same guy doing the food at all of the parties .

Yup!, As a matter of fact I just e-mailed the match director to demand a recount LOL. She actually had 241 of the 250 possible point. She has nine bullet hole in the 10 ring and eight on the x. Seven went into nine ring and only one the eight for a total of 241.

We were shooting at the MR-65FC Target with the X ring measured 2.5", the 10 ring at 5" and the 9 ring at 10". She placed 17 of the 25 shot into a 5 inch circle. Not bad for a first time shooter. My coaching help her immensely but she still has to guide those bullet into the target.

Night shooting is very challenging since you are shooting at a target with no reference aiming point. I just told my wife to boxed the target inside the mil hash mark on the TMR reticle and shoot. I was so proud of her.

A classic case of the student teaching the teacher.

Well, the score was published but they neglected to correct the mistake on my wife score. She should be in the 8th place instead of 9th. Nevertheless, she still made the top ten.
