Heres My first try,

I'm at the point where I'm going to shorten it down to 7 or 8" and scallop the bell end.

And a question for our call makers

outback040.jpg

Should I bore it straight through? or leave some for back pressure? Right now its center hole is about 3/8". DR

I believe that all of the back preasure you need is provided in the reed insert you are going to use, I don't know because I don't use those. If you want to be a better call make ditch those reed inserts on your horn calls and use the horn tip as the reed, anyone can drill a horn and glue in an insert. You should also polish it up a bit, I wet sand my calls down to 600 grit and then polish them on the wheel.

Looks good i would cut it down so it will be easier to carry.Well a lot of so called call makers just add plastic tone boards to their calls and sell them as custom.
