So, I dashed over to pick it up and they gave a choice between two they had received...neat..!!I got home and filled it to 2800 psi and it is now 3 hours later and the air pressure is holding firm...(a good sign)..Tomorrow I will shoot it on my chrony to document the first string to get set up for the initial tunning..Marauder25Cal001.jpg

Ok...did not lose any air overnight,so it does not leak. First,I put it over the chrono for 10 shots using the Benjamin Destroyer pellets (27.8 GR).....I had to shoot this string from a fill of 2600 psi,as beyond that air came out the barrel..(The Crosman manual states that it is the Hammer Spring Preload adjustment causes that...).First shot string...Marauder25chronoFeb21002.jpgFor sight in,I did a quick 5 shots from 14 yards, then moved back to 25 meters. The first group, using the Destroyers was just awful...in fact I was concerned I bought a lemon... :smiley-outta-here: Then I shot one 6 shot group using Benjamin Domes and things cleaned up fast. (Last picture):smiley-innocent-halo-yellow: Quick sight in..Marauder25chronoFeb21004.jpgThis scope is a Hawke 4x12x50 HD...I have a Hawke 4x12x40 1/2 mil dot Panorama on order.Marauder25chronoFeb21005.jpgMarauder25chronoFeb21008.jpgMuch better with Domes..Marauder25chronoFeb21009.jpg

Most reviews on these Mrod .25's have been very good especially in accuracy...now I just have to follow some 'tuning' procedures so I can fill it to at least 2800/2900 psi..that will give me around 16-18 shots I can live with...

Nice addition to your stable there Rich. That thing should put some serious hurt on the ground Squirrells. :signlol2iu:

It is certainly quieter than my 850 HPA and Discovery rifles. The 'ping' is the dominant sound I hear...I can safely say this Marauder.25 is very accurate..so far two groups measured .454" (6 shots) and .396" (4 shots) both from 25 meters.Going out this AM to sight in at 50 yards.I went back over to the airgun shop where I purchased it a showed the owner the chrono results and some targets and he told me he is thinking of taking the other Marauder .25 'off the shelf' for himself.... :signlol2iu:

Nice, Welcome to the club. Try some JSB Exact Kings 25.4g. They shoot really well in my M-rod. Congrats on the new shooter.

Went to the range and discovered something interesting. Been having issues trying to fill my Marauder above 2600 psi....(sounded like air escaping barrel while trying to fill)....when I went to fill my 850 HPA the very same thing happened so I removed my fill adapter from my 80 cu ft scuba and found a 'ding' at the seal/o-ring area of my K70 valve....So,....I installed my Air fill adapter backwards thinking the tapered screw on adapter would fix the 'ding'....and it worked...and the air leak from tank stopped.Just recently had that tank in for inspection/refill,so think the dive shop damaged the K70 somehow...???Here are pics of my 'field repair' including some of the range...MaraduderattheRange006.jpgMaraduderattheRange005.jpgMaraduderattheRange004.jpgIn this pic my portable target frame is to right of my green wind flag at 50 yards... the near target bunker on left is 95 yards and the other just to right is 114 yards (center of picture). I was hitting a 10" diameter white steel plate at 114 yards with the Marauder .25 holding about 4.5 mil dots...MaraduderattheRange003.jpgMaraduderattheRange002.jpg

Problem is I can't prove anything but at least I know what to inspect myself before leaving their shop next time... :roflmao3[1]:

I'm assuming they remove valve to inspect tank...no biggie,...I'm just happy it was not the Marauder...
