THis is an impressive scope for $239. It has a 10x 1/2 mil dot etched glass illuminated reticle and is pretty light at 19 oz. The glass is crystal clear. They model with AO is new (5171).

After mounting the new Panorama with the fancy reticle I am selling my Varmint SF. The wired reticle is just too crowded compared to the very fine lines on the etched glass one.

I know. Leupold has really fallen off - especially on QC. My local gun shop says if you buy Leupold get an old one.

Hey Shoot It....Put a Leupold side-by-side next to the Hawke Panorama and you will be surprised. Especially if it is a bind test when the user does not know what brand scope he is looking through. I'll put my $$ on the Hawke glass.....I'll double the money on the Leupold vs. Hawke Frontier binos. Seeing is the proof.

Lifetime yes transferable no - that is a part of the price difference.

From the air gun forum today. This model scope used to be able to handle the AG recoil. This is an all too frequent posting."I BROKE MY LEUPOLD .............AGAIN !!!!!!!!! RANT !February 29 2012 at 9:22 AM john p (Login johnp66)YF -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i posted a few weeks back complaining that my leupold 3-9x33 EFR scope that i had mounted on a .25cal hw90 broke within 5-10 shots so i sent it back to leupold to have it fixed they said that they replaced the whole erector system ,a few members of this forum kind of gave me some crap saying "why complain it has a lifetime warranty" i got the scope back and after about 20 or so shots THE SCOPE BROKE AGAIN!!! (this scope is supposed to be one of the best for a heavy recoiling magnum airgun) so i'm complaining again A $400.00 SCOPE SHOULDN'T KEEP BREAKING LIKE THIS!!!!!!! WHAT GIVES!!!!!!!!! should i be happy to have to keep sending it back ? after all it's got a lifetime warranty .....I DON'T THINK SO!!!111 NO MORE LEUPOLD SCOPES FOR ME!"

Hawke scope are the most popular scopes among air rifle shooters. They can take the recoil of spring guns. That's why they have no trouble with recoil on firearms.
