Well the kids and I went to see Steve at PAG and picked up my .25cal 60FPE Daystate Air Ranger today with custom shroud, now I just have to wait for my Hawke 8,5-25x42 to show up, hopefully Tuesday.IMAG0147.jpg

Wow - what a work of art. I saw some picture of their factory. You didn't hold back on that one. Where do you go from here? You're at the top of the chain. Give us detailed reports and pictures (targets, etc) please.

Thanks, but the pic isn't very good, it's hard to see but my gun has an ambidextrous thumbhole stock with quick fill, pressure guage and the pistol grip and forarm are stippled. My camera phone never seems to take good ones so I will post another pic from online. Where to go next well I want a MAC 1 USFT, Daystate Grand prix and a few others, .....lolFX Royale 500 .25, Beeman-P11-.177, slr98-.177, Diana 56 Target Hunter .177....ECTAir RangerAir-Ranger-4-0709.jpgGrand PrixMK4-GP.jpgUSFTDSC_0067.jpg

I like the shorter guns like the Air Ranger. I even went to the 18" barrel with shroud on the Condor to get it to 35". The FX Royal is real nice but 47" is just too much. The AA S510s are 43" and which is about as long as I would prefer.

Thanks, I'll let you guys know and take some pics of my kills after my Hawke sidewinder 30 tactical 8.5-25x42 shows up. It should do a lot of damage with the .25 Kodiak 31.02 at 60fpe

CBR, It is too hot here to invite you to a hunt. I will try in the fall. If you could, I would like to ask you for a full report back on the Rapid vs Ranger. Tell everything. Shot string, weight, balance, accuracy, trigger, loudness, likes/dislikes, etc. Spill it all. A grand thanks in advance, I tip my hat to you sir.

Well the Rapid and Air Ranger both weigh 9.5lbs scoped, both balance very well but feel diffrent since the Ranger has a thumbhole stock and the Rapid dosen't. The Rapid is .22 and shoots around 40fpe and I can get 4 12 shot clips at full power. The Ranger is .25 and shooting around 60fpe and gets around 20 full power shots but I could squeez 30. The Rapid is full tuned by Allen Zasadny and has maybe a thousand shots through it and is supper smooth. The Ranger only has around 40 shots through it and is still a little stiff as it's still breaking in. The Ranger was tuned by Steve at PAG and has one of his custom shrouds. Both guns have full custom shrounds and are very quiet but the Ranger is louder then the Rapid. The Ranger has a 10 shot clip that is easy to load but is harder to get into the gun. The Rapids 12 shot clip is also easy to load and a lot easier to get into the gun.The Rapid has a butter smooth trigger that is very light and the safety is close to the trigger which makes it easier to turn on and off with your trigger finger. The Ranger has a thumb safety at the back of the gun which is harder to turn on and off since the bolt comes out of the back of the gun and not out of the right side like the Rapid. The trigger on the Ranger is also very nice but needs a litle tuning to get to the same feel as the Rapid. Both guns are laser accurate and I know the Rapid can take game out to 100+ yards but the Ranger has yet to go out in the field to see how it dose and what kind of damage it will do. I'm confident the Ranger will perform flalessly and have devistating stopping power. I will post hunting pics by Sunday night at teh latest..22 RapidIMAG0113.jpgIMAG0111.jpg.25 Rangerdownload10.jpgdownload9.jpg

Scott,So say you had the Rapid in .25 and now your Air Ranger in .25 for a while. Which do you prefer? What are the pros of each? I just don't know much about the Rapids but some folks on YF really love them. I take it the tunede AR has a little more power? Is the AR quieter w/ the custom shroud? Thanks,Brant

I did.If you could only own one of them - which one would you get the Ranger or Rapid (say the Rapid was the .25 in 50 FPE version).

Brant I would probably get the Rapid if I could only have one in .25 as there are more aftermarket tuners and parts for the Rapid and it's built like a tank so I think it would be hard to brake it and there easy to work on and adjust. PAG sells both and that is where I get most of my guns from. You can find them on the Yellow forums too.
