Looking to get a new decoy, was thinking of Mojo Critter, I like the way it works. Anybody have one, does it hold up to regular field use?TonyD

Holds up very well, One thing to know, when it's twenty below zero don't think your brute force is going to stick it in the ground my stake flew off about ten feet. S***, But i have a stake i rigged on the side that works well, i've had mine for a couple years and holy moly coyotes love them! you will not be dissapointed!

I like mine, too.I want to modify a small battery clamp to fit the end of the spike so I can just clamp it to a low root or branch quickly and raise it slightly above the tops of the surrounding brush. That would eliminate the frozen ground problem.

I have one. Have only been on 2 hunts ever. Yet to get my first dog. There are a lot of coyote videos on youtube using the Mojo Critter and the dogs come running in to it. I think it really works well.

Picked up a Mojo critter, rifled choke tube and brass 3" remington slugs, for my Mossberg 500 12 ga The last couple of stands the yotes stayed out past buck shot range, I should have a little more range now.

Can I ask what you mean by brass 3" remington slugs? Are you hunting in the condor range? Because the sabot slugs I'm thinking from Remington wouldn't be legal.

yes I am in the condor range, and these are certified by California as lead free legal, unless I read it wrong.

Okay those are copper and not brass. They make a brass clad one too and you mentioned brass in your first post.

since I got you here, do you have any time on these slugs, I want to use them for the yotes that stay out of normal shotgun range and the maybe pig you might see. Pig tags are cheep enough to have one handy.

I have not used slugs of any kind on game animals. I've only ever shot them at paper and I wasn't happy with the results. I'm not saying they don't work but I prefer a rifle. At a reasonable distance I'm sure that they would be very deadly on pig.

90% of the places I go are shotgun only, so can't even bring a rifle. Slugs would be the next best thing. From my experience at the range with slugs, the range is somewhere around 60-90 yrds, nowhere near the 200+ they state on the box.

I don't know if slugs are legal in all shotgun only areas. You might want to check that.

I have a Mojo Critter, it works well. I didn't like how short the stake is and had planned on fabbing a longer stake from metal at the shop I used to work at, but that place went out of business. So now I have it zip tied to a 1/2 inch or so wooden dowel about 3ft high. With it on the stick I don't have to shove it in the ground as often, most of the time I can just stick it through the middle of some tumbleweeds or scrub brush.

Shotgun only areas are described that you can not shoot solid projectiles larger than half the bore diameter.

Yes sir. If youre shooting slugs from a shotgun, it is in essence a rifle now.
