I have tried to eat cat fish but never cared much for them. Probably the way I cleaned and cooked them. Huh!! Now, large mouth bass or salt water bass I can eat a ton. At one time we had a Japanese girl living with us for 9 months while she went to high school. I taught her how to fish so we ate lots of fish that year for sure.

You have to peel the skin from catfish or they may not taste good to you. Bass don't retain the taste in their skin like catfish.

I only tried it once. Getting the skin off was a major chore... then I found out you should use *special* tools. Forget that. I also soaked them in salt water to get that mud taste out, too much hassle. Just catch fish that don't taste like mud in the first place. That is my solution.

I just use a fillet knife it's pretty easy to get the skin off with one. I wash the fillets in cold water right after I cut them then soak in milk for 30 mins and dip it in bass pro shops Uncle Bucks batter and fry it up. Now I'm hungry Oh also I cut off the dark meat I was once told by an older guy that's what gives it the dirty flavor. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/743183/how_t...llet_a_catfish/ not my video but its how I do it

Like Air Hunter did just filet them out and cut the dark meat off. Cat fish is good for you has lots of that omega 3 stuff. The little ones do taste better. Nice catch.
