YAY!! MY FIRST SIG-SAUER

13 posts in this topic

I recently traded a friend a .22 revolver for an older but well kept Sig Sauer p220. I was able to shoot it and its in great shape, easily managing 1.5-2 inch groups at 25 yards with winchester 230 grain full metal jacket round nose ammunition. The slide is loosing a little finishing, the slide release lever is a little hard to turn, but the barrel is in good shape, it came with a holster and four magazines. The first thing I did was order a new recoil spring and guide due to jamming in the aftermarket mags. I hope its just the recoil spring but the original mags workeed beautifully- 100 rounds and no FTF or FTE. Its an older gun and even says Made in W. Germany on the side. Anyone elese have a sig-sauer p220? I think I made a great deal.

I have a couple of older Sig P220's. This one is still NEW in box. I have one I've been shooting since I bought them in 1985. This one was tucked away in one of my safes.post-3-1279647731_thumb.jpgThe target still looks good and the one I shoot is awesome never had a problem. You will be happy with your trade.

Those Sig's are great guns hunting guy, I think you'll like it a lot. Wise move on the recoil spring, too many people forget above about them as service parts. Group size looks good too.

Thanks for the offer. But I'm a gun hoarder and I refuse to seek treatment!
We may have to submit your name for TLC's TV show "Hoarding: Buried Alive".

I have a P-220 Carry - which is exactly what I use it for. When I can use my Utah CCW it's in a Crossbreed holster, when I'm on a hunt it's in a Blackhawk Serpa. Here is a picture I took for someone interested in a good hunting pack awhile back (it's an Eberlestock X1) it has the Serpa on it using Blackhawks MOLLE platform. The P-220 is one awesome shooting machine!119338045.jpg

Been carrying mine on me the past 2 weeks while on vacation concealed the whole time with either a Smartcarry or Bluegrass Hybrid holster. Am going to cry crossing the state line back into CA after having it by my side the whole time.Love my P220!Darren

Congrat's on the SIG.. In my eyes you just purchased one of the finest firearms made!! I have 3 P-220's and I just ordered the new combat P-220.. One of my P-220's has well over 15K rounds through it and it runs like a champ.. I came up with a nice 200 grn Semi wad cutter load that it just loves and the recoil is smooth.. I threw a set of Crimson Laser Grips on it and zero'd it last week... Man these are sweet guns! Your going to happy for years to come with you new Sig. :yikes[1]:

Nice gun, it's on my list. Right now I'm settled with a FNP-40, which is a poor man's Sig. It's in the jail but going to pick her up next weekend.
