Where Can I Get Live Crickets?

16 posts in this topic

I'm looking for a place where I can get some live crickets around the Ontario, California area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I known you needed some I could have collected a butt load and sent them to you. I have been cleaning around the ranch and turned over some wood and found 50 of them and huge night crawlers to.I was going to collect the worms but forgot,

That's really cool man. I like to use them for trout fishing up at the Whitney Portal. I used to keep worms in a huge bucket full of potting soil. I think it was Miracle Grow. I'd add a little bit of water to it once a week and them suckers got big!

I use to go to a place in Chico CA for crawdads and crickets. You might find crickets at a pet store like pet smart near the reptile section.

Any good pet shop will have them. We order meal worms for our birds and they send them almost overnight I usually order 10,000 and then they reproduce too. You can buy crickets the same way.

There's a pet shop in Chino that specializes in reptiles called "Prehistoric Pets". It's on Philadelphia E/O Central on the north side of the street. It's in the center that has the "Chino 8" theatre and the "Olive Garden" restaurant.

10,000 crickets how can you sleep at night with that my bugs in the house .I tried raising my own worms a few times last year and I would throw my old veg's in the bucket for them and corn meal but when I threw away old lettuce I drown them a few times it had to much water.I even mixed news paper with the soil.I read how people use to catch night crawlers using a battery shocking them to the surface has anyone ever done that?

My grandpa had an extension cord that he wired to two metal stakes (a positive stake and a negative stake). He would stick them in the ground a few feet apart and plug it in, and within seconds worms would crawl to the top. He also had a set up similar to that but hooked up to an old army radio/phone that you had to crank by hand.

Real fishermen use artificials. You are a master baiter. :good:

Just look under rocks :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:
Or have Braz or Jawbreaker make you up an open reed cricket call. :)
