new scope on the 243

10 posts in this topic

I bought a new vx-3 3.5x 10 to replce the old (28year old ) v-x2 on my 243. Lapped the rings put it on there went up and shot it at 100 yards. 2 clicks down and it was a perfect 1 " high @ 100. This is a duplex optical. I prefer dots ,but might give it a try and see.

Nice scope. I prefer mildot recticles. It's much easier to take follow up shots.

I try to hit it the first time and not have to make followup shots. At the distance the average coyote is taken a mildot really isn't necessary.

I bought a Browning last year that came with a 3.5-10x40 VX-III. I really like it, especially in low light.
